MacLeod Repeats "E12" Slab in England
1/07/09 - Scotland’s Dave MacLeod has made the second ascent of The Walk of Life, a 50-meter steep slab on England’s North Devon coast that was given the unprecedented grade of E12 7a when James Pearson made the first ascent last year.
 
Steck Solos Grandes Jorasses in 2:21
1/07/09 - Ueli Steck has soloed the Colton-MacIntyre Route on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses in 2 hours 21 minutes, the fastest time for any route on the premier north wall of the Mont Blanc massif.
 
New Routes in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica

Kinder: 5.14c New Route in Kentucky
11/26/08 - Joe Kinder has completed a 5.14c first ascent at the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Kinder bolted Southern Smoke, a direct start to Ultra-Perm (5.13d) at the Bob Marley Crag, and redpointed the line after six days of work.

11/25/08 - Americans Alex Honnold and Kevin Jorgeson have astonished British climbers with rapid repeats of some of the testiest routes on “God’s own rock,” the English gritstone.

11/24/08 - Japanese climbers Kazuya Hiraide and Kei Taniguchi have completed the first ascent of the 6,000-foot southeast face of Kamet (7,756m/25,446') in northern India.
